Egon Eiermann

Egon Eiermann was one of the most famous architects of post-war modernism in Germany and is famous for the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin, among others. His architecture is simple, minimalistic, and straight to the point. Inspiration was drawn from fellow modern architects such as Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier and Walter Gropius.

When professor Egon Eiermann died in 1970 in Baden-Baden, he had won many awards, ‘The Grand Prize of the BDA’ (Federation of German Architects) and Germany‘s ‘Grand Order of Merit’, among many others.

The iconic architect is a man we admire and respect. In 2013 PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED introduced Egon Eiermann’s iconic SE68 chair, and Eiermann’s desk to the Scandinavian market. Eiermann’s designs are functional, unique, and aesthetically pleasing, which is why we fell in love with him and his designs.
