CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

The charcoal grill’s polished surfaces can be cleaned using soap and water. For optimum results, follow the direction of the polish lines when cleaning. The cooking grid, coal grate and the burner compartment will become darker with time through being exposed to heat. Such darkening cannot be cleaned off, but any food residues can be removed using a steel brush. For a particularly thorough clean, a mixture of soft soap and household ammonia may be applied to the grid. Place the grid in a sealed plastic bag for several hours, preferably overnight. Then remove it from the bag and clean according to the normal procedure.

Warning concerning cleaning: Never use scouring pads to clean any visible surfaces. Even plastic scouring pads will scratch the surface.
